How to create a story

Do you have a story in you? Do you know how to write it or how to tell it?
How to Create A Story has the answers.
The course concentrates on developing characters including such rarely discussed requirements such as a dominant reader emotion, the character's biography and the crucially important emotional arc.
Mind-mapping a novel
The first draft of a novel needs consistency and continuity. That isn't easy to achieve. Mind-mapping offers a way to gain both of those qualities.
-
What if you knew how to create mind-maps to ensure that consistency? And that continuity?
-
What if you had a way to make sure your characters didn’t inadvertently change in the middle of the story?
-
Imagine have a visual diagram to keep your plot on track.
-
What if you could have the synopsis of the novel displayed on a single graphic? It could be used as a roadmap to control your first draft.
Fiction writing workshop for kids
This workshop provides grammar school and middle school students with a simple, step-by-step approach to creating and developing a short story.
Three separate story ideas are explored and in each one the students are lead through a process to develop the characters, the plot and the story setting. Text boxes are used to record the student's ideas and these text boxes are then used to develop and write the story on their own.
How to self-publish and market a book
Self-publishing a book is a complex project made more complex by all the mis-information on the web. Marketing the book is yet another problem area that the author must solve.
Imagine having an experienced, self-published author direct your every step for both the publishing and marketing components of the project
Many self-publishing authors don’t consider marketing until after the book is published. This approach is wrong. Publishing and marketing are two parts of a single project. This course provides the student with an integrated project plan that will both publish the book and marketing it.

Plots + Scenes =
Emotional Arc
All stories need an emotional arc, but such an arc is difficult to develop. Until now. This class will show you how to create an emotional arc for your story.
* What if you could use a plot cloud to develop your plot?
* What if you could write scenes that keep the readers involved?
* What if you could link the plot and scenes to form better reader hooks?
.
An emotional arc is the result of using plot events to trigger emotional releases in the characters. By linking these releases, the author produces a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs that keeps the readers turning the pages.
